I was thinking pity about the background then I changed my mind and thought its quite complimentary but if it was my shot I would have 'strengthened' the colour of the bird in levels possibly just to bring it out of the back? I'm only nit-picking Jon - its a super shot and one I would like to have!

Thanks everyone, much appreciated. On reflection Pauline, the bird`s colours could do with a bit more "oomph". I`ll have a dabble tonight with the raw file :-).

Another nice shot. Managed to see a couple today when I went out but just took the spotting scope and left the camera because of the weather. Then the sun came out, what an amateur.
