And finally a close-up where I can still 'hear' in my memory the force and power of that fabulous song ... thank you again to David and Wendy for providing this opportunity by hosting the meet in memory of Theresa - Mrs Fish who loved this area and must have heard these birds on many occasions.

Thanks guys: only found out about these late on the Sunday and had to be back for tea (actually we were rude and had to 'recalled' when we didn't turn up for tea and folks were waiting - again our apologies David and Wendy for such behaviour ...) once the camera is in my hand and a bird in front all other thoughts disappear ... I no longer register that I'm cold, wet, hungry, want a wee or anything else really!!! We returned on the Monday and spent 6 hours watching this little bird go round in circles singing his socks off - what a voice!!

Fabulous image Pauline. The fact that this unassuming little brown bird can produce such an explosive but awesomely beautiful song always amazes me. :-)
