If this was Cladonia cristatella, as currently named, then it would have been a new record for Britain and Europe!
A little less squamulose than usual, so verging a little towards C. borealis, but this is most likely C. diversa, our widespread lowland member of this complex of species with wide cups and red apothecia. Cladonia fimbriata and C. subulata also present in the photograph.
C. cristatella is a widespread N. American species.
