Whilst watching for bitterns, I said to colleagues that one day I hoped to stand beneath a hovering kestrel with the sun out. Usually, they move away despite my best efforts.



We looked up and could not believe our eyes. This kestrel hovered just in front of us. Lots of shots by everyone. What is more, the bird came back on another two occasions and did exactly the same thing.
