I promised myself I wouldn't take anymore nuthatch shots ......... but when they pose like this what is a girl to do?! Taken today from Charlie Owen's Photographic Hide in blustery conditions.

Thanks guys! It was interesting to be using the lightweight 400 lens .... its one I will be considering when the time comes that I can't heft the 500 on my back anymore - hopefully its not a decision I will have to make just yet ....

What a lovely shot of a wonderful bird...I saw one of these today singing it's heart out and although I had my camera with me there was no way I'd ever get such a cracking photo as this one!

Thanks again guys: I was going to say Jean you can take a photo just like this anytime you want - tho this bird only visited us once during our 4 hours tay in the hide - but if you can get under cover - or even from a car window at a bird feeding spot - put your own post and food below it - if there are nuthatches there they will come. It might take a while and some patience - but they are one of the easiest birds to attract to seed and nuts!
