You've captured their distinctive hairs very nicely in this pic. Out of interest I know this one as the Sloe shieldbug.

You are of course right Bruce this is known also as the Sloe shieldbug, its just that in my research to identify it the alturnative name came up and I thought it would be useful for others to know, in hindsight I should have put "also known as Sloe shieldbug" thank you for pointing out my omission, much appreciated mate.

Well I for one found it helpful Wayne as I'd not come across the (very descriptive) name "Hairy shieldbug" before .
