Description:
An unmistakable species due to its habit of parasitizing common earthballs, scleroderma.
Habitat:
Autumn, locally common to rare, solitary or in clusters of two or three parasitic on Sceloroderma citrinum.
Additional Notes:
Habitat: On old basidiomes of Scleroderma citrinum.
Notes: Occasional but widespread, possibly most frequent in southern and south-eastern England. Apparently not parasitic on Scleroderma but mutualistic, with interwoven mycelia and an exchange of nutrients fide R. Watling (pers. comm.).
