This fungus is very variable in shape, the white to greyish cap can be domed to flattish, or even funnel shaped and fruits from Summer to late Autumn.

Found in woodland, gardens and parks in both coniferous and broadleaf woodland.
When mature, the cap may become depressed in the centre, it often has a wavy edge and has a greyish-white frosted, suede like surface.
This fungus has a floury smell and a mealy taste.
The gills, which are white but turn pink when mature, are thin, crowded and decurrent.
Pink
The stem is short, and is the same colour as the cap with a pruinose covering and a cottony base. Strong smelling.
Edible when cooked.
