Centre of a Roman pottery industry, hunting preserve of the Saxon Bishops of Winchester, Royal Forest and now SE HQ of the Forestry Commission and home of its Forest Research Station.
We set up the site to fight a campsite proposal and kept it going for all who love the Forest.
