Description

Although no longer the most common British bird of prey, the Kestrel is still a fairly familiar sight and can quite often be seen hovering over grass verges or perched on lampposts alongside motorways throughout the UK.

Distribution

found all over the UK except the islands of Scotland

Habitat

Found in a wide variety of haunts including open or lightly wooded farmland, moors, wetlands and urban areas. this includes parks and large gardens

Diet

Predominantly small mammals, but also small birds and insects.
