Description: 

This fungus, which has a cup shaped fruiting body that is folded back on itself  is found in mixed woodland, .

Distribution: 

Incommon from Summer till Autumn.

Habitat: 

Mixed woodland.

Cap: 

The cup is folded back on itself into a twisted, flattened disc that is dark-brown to blackish, paler light grey on the underside.

Stem: 

Slightly twisted, tough, full of white pith, concolorous with the cap.
