Harvestman

Male 4mm - Female 6mm

Description

Easily identified by the very long legs which are always spread to the sides, with the second pair being up to 5cm long.  The pedipalps extend well to the front of the body, with a forked appearance.  Males are generally darker than females. 

Distribution

Originally not native, first appearing in Bournemouth in 1957.  Recently it has spread to most areas of the UK.
