Raceme

A long cluster of stalked flowers along a central stem with the older flowers at the base. E.g. Cuckoo Flower.

Ray-floret

Flat strap-like flower occupying the peripheral ring of a composite flower (compare with disc-floret), as in the white part of a Daisy.

Receptacle

Swollen part of a stem to which the flower is attached. 

Recurved

Curving backwards.

Rhizome

Under ground stem such as in the Iris.

Rhomboid

Leaf shaped like a parallelogram with adjacent sides of unequal length. 

Rosette

Radiating arrangement of leaves at ground level. E.g. Bucks-horn Plantain.

Runner

Above-ground horizontal stem, often rooting at the nodes. E.g. Trailing Tormentil.
