An easily recognised fungus by it's often massive size. Generally round and white with irregular lobes and a thick leathery skin, which is easily peeled away. There may be white cords where it is attached to the ground. As it matures the flesh becomes yellowish and eventually a dark brown colour and will dry out and become extremely light. Edible only when young with white flesh.
