Additional Notes: 
"Habitat: Parasitic, then saprotrophic. Usually on trunks or stumps of Fagus in woodland or parkland. Rarely reported on Quercus spp., but known on planted Q. coccinea. Notes: Occasional but widespread in England (Bedfordshire, Berkshire, East Gloucestershire, East & West Kent, Herefordshire, Hertfordshire, North & South Hampshire, North Wiltshire, Surrey, Warwickshire, West Sussex and Yorkshire); also known from Scotland (Dumfrieshire)."
