Not sure I have understood you correctly, Alan.
By "I cant even get a live view for setting up" do you mean that when you switch it to 'Setup' you do not see anything on the monitor screen?
If so, then I think you have a faulty one, but apologies if I have misunderstood.

Hi Tringa, I have a screen with the menus etc but I cant see anything else on the screen. By that I mean I have to guess when lining it up as to what Ill see on the computer when I playback. Perhaps I have it on the wrong settings?????

Sorry, I misunderstood you.
This is the same as on our camera. The screen can't be used to view what area the camera is going record. It is a matter of pointing it roughly in the right direction and hoping for the best.
I find the horizontal field of view fairly wide so it is not too much of a problem.

Thanks Steefo Yeah i know Dave, it will be a labour of love though. Ive set it up same place tonight but with a road kill Pheasant. I wonder if a Badger will eat it??????

I've got an LTL Acorn 12 mega pixel scouting camera. This is the first one i've owned so cant compare but looking at your night videos i would say your pictures are a lot clearer and brighter than mine.
Have a look at my badgers filmed this week, ignore date on film and sorry about the jazzy music, grandsons choice  View My Video
