| | | Photographing garden birds I am wanting to photograph the garden birds in our garden but the neighbours have cats. I have put food out for them and water but they still arn't coming. If anyone has any ideas that would be great. |

| | | Re: Photographing garden birds Start with a birdtable or something similar which is well above ground level.
Ideally, with bare ground underneath, so cats can't lie in wait hidden by undergrowth, and some nearby higher shrubs or trees where the birds can lurk safely before dashing out to the feeders. |

| | | Re: Photographing garden birds There are several cats that visit our garden on a regular basis but as Geoff has already mentioned there are several remedies which can be applied when cats are around.
Place feeders well above ground but near to higher hedges/trees where birds can retreat if cats should be a threat, if ground feeding is introduced place feeder well away from ground cover(low growing hedges, plants and long grass).
In my case grey squirrels can cause more problems and are much more difficult to deal with.
Having taken the necessary precautions I am quite successful in obtaining some acceptable garden bird shots.
