| | | Re: It took a while... Dogghound, or any one else that could help have you ever seen this before? I know its a blurry rubbish photo, but it moved it pretty fast. Ive never seen a Sparrowhawk with a live bird in its beak with out a foot hold. She just turned it quickly round.

Yes the bird is manipulating it and moving it into a better position to kill/pluck. This is often done with smaller birds, larger birds are more of a struggle and as a result harder to kill.
