| | | hello to everyone very new member hello everyone what a great forum. i have just found and signed up tonight i am just getting back in to photography after a long break (1986) and have bought a canon eos 350d with the 18 - 55mm lens kit i am going to go out and use it as much as possible to get use to it but what would you sugest i do or save up for next to improve my photography. thanks in advance shaun. |

| | | Re: hello to everyone very new member that very much depends on what sort of photography you are interested in , for instance if its wildlife I would say get a longer lens , if its macro get a 1:1 macro lens , if it landscapes get a better wide angle - the kit lens is notoriously poor
in terms of accessories that will benefit you generally I would suggest that a decent tripod is key.
I have just emailed you a copy of my advice sheet for beginers btw - hope you find this helpful ( I am working on a whole series, ie landscapes , macro, birds in flight, night shots, etc etc so let me know by pm or email if you would like the others)

Good luck. A tripod is a great idea!
Otherwise have a play until you decide what sort of photography takes your fancy and spend the pennies on going to nice places!!

Where are you based - I am thinking about doing some days out if there is enough interest.
