Re: hello to everyone very new member

that very much depends on what sort of photography you are interested in , for instance if its wildlife I would say get a longer lens , if its macro get a 1:1 macro lens , if it landscapes get a better wide angle - the kit lens is notoriously poor

in terms of accessories that will benefit you generally I would suggest that a decent tripod is key.

I have just emailed you a copy of my advice sheet for beginers btw - hope you find this helpful ( I am working on a whole series, ie landscapes , macro, birds in flight, night shots, etc etc so let me know by pm or email if you would like the others)

Re: hello to everyone very new member

welcome Shaun

Good luck. A tripod is a great idea!

Otherwise have a play until you decide what sort of photography takes your fancy and spend the pennies on going to nice places!!

Practice, practice, practice. And some patience and you'll be there in no time! Oh and you'll probaably be as broke as I am - but it's all worth it in the end!

Where are you based - I am thinking about doing some days out if there is enough interest.

Jason
