Kingfishers In Lancashire

Thanks for info on place to photograph Kingfisher, i agree that the best time to see them would be spring and summer. But was told by a keen bird spotter that they can be seen in winter as they need to feed more when its cold. We visited Brockholes just of the M6 junction 31 last week and was told that the bird was seen all over reserve but after speaking to a Angler on the river he kindly showed me where the Kingfisher came out. I have heard this so many times but later that afternoon we went to the spot where he had told us it could be seen and saw the bird flying from the said area. The only problem is the you need a big lens as the river is very wide. If you could get on the other side of the river you would be very close so if anyone needs more info i can email you exactly where it is.

I spotted one last week on the River Severn in Shrewsbury in the middle of town and watched it for some time. Not much help for Lancs I am afraid but, they are still about.
