| | | Re: The Sun Newspaper wildlife competition I didn't name any names. I kept my comments deliberately vague with no quotations so people could sit in judgement on themselves and think about what they had written.
But I think we agree on most points here so I'm not interested in getting into an argument.

I have, hopefully loaded the image, submitted.
This image had to be reduced, which may affect its quality. However, it has not been cropped, photoshopped, enhanced, saturated or improved in any way. It is what it is. |

I like the shot a lot. No matter where it was taken its got a lot going for it.
Good luck with the competition.
If anyone else can't find it, here it is:
The shot improves very well with just a little sharpening. Don't forget that when you go above compact camera's your expected to do some work yourself. Nothing wrong with this, your not altering the basics of the image, just bringing out the best of what's there.

Reason: addition.

| | | Re: The Sun Newspaper wildlife competition I always think about what I write in forums and am very careful to try and phrase things so people won't take offence. I think that shows. I have no need to judge myself. I was not seeking to get into an argument with you. I just wanted to point out to anyone in here who might connect your post to mine that I did not ever aim a personal attack on anyone.
Little Mele - It is a nice photo of foxes. However I fear I cannot really go into anymore detail as to my opinion on the photo as people will either criticise me of being rude of you will take offence. So I am afraid that now I am the one who has been 'bullied' into keeping quiet! |

| | | Re: The Sun Newspaper wildlife competition Hi everyone
Thanks for your posts, this is all dragging on a bit for me now, people getting upset, so hope to draw a line under it and move on. Am currently in the Lake District watching red squirrels, and last night two badgers came acalling, so am going to set up some kind of hide and hopefully capture an image or two with my new Canon 7D, fresh out of the box. Can't wait !!
So I am in a forest with wild badgers, not captive, and if I get a few images tonight, I will be well pleased
It's too dark to find the badger's sett and sit and watch them, so my only option in November is getting them to me. Whether or not they turn up is anybody's guess.
Better read the 7D's instruction book, before I start !! |

| | | Re: The Sun Newspaper wildlife competition Hello MetalMoth,
Thanks for your post. I really take on board people's help and advice with regard to improving my photography. Someone has already suggested sharpening the image, so please, if you have any helpful suggestions do post them. I won't be offended or think you are rude, we are all too nice for that on this forum !! |

Dave P. | I can see the way you're thinking, Dave, and that's what bothers me! There are far too many people (on this thread, in the 'wildlife movement', in the world in general) who have their specialisms and obsessions but cannot focus their interest into a broader perspective: they cannot, or will not, look at the implications of their actions. I won't go on ..... but people might see my line of thinking in another, distant, thread Shopping | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
