Holiday in Wick

I am planning a holiday in Wick in a couple of months time. I have never been that far north before, so does anybody know of any good places around Wick that are good for wildlife photography.

Type into GOOGLE 'wildlife around Wick & Caithness' and you will find a long list of sites etc.

It is some time since I visited Caithness .... I normally holiday on the other side in Sutherland.

However, I do remember that Duncansby Head and Stacks was very good for breeding seabirds.

I have never done this but it may be worth trying ....

I know Wick quite well and over the last few years spend many months there. Duncansby head as very good for Fulmars and in the summer they ride the thermals near the cliff edge. Noss Head and the surrounding cliffs is also good and it's worth a visit too but you do need to ask permission from Ian Sinclair to go there though. I've never done the cruises from John o' Groats but I've heard they can be good.

Thanks for your replies. I have now booked a holiday for the second week of June, just outside of Wick. So weather permitting I will use some of you recommendations posted.
