| | | Re: My First Day in the "Wild" - Some great photos aww wow.. that sounds amazing.. the problem is, in a fairly busy place like richmond, you don't want to risk getting too close in case you frighten them off and ruin everyone else's experience!
That's why i really enjoyed it yesterday, it was just me following these two huge stags, felt very natural and exciting |

| | | Re: My First Day in the "Wild" - Some great photos Really sorry to be a party-pooper but one of WAB's rules is that only images uploaded to the Gallery or image library can be used in forum threads. This is to prevent problems of images disappearing when the photographer removes them from an external site or, worse, replaces them with less acceptable images.
They are great shots though, and if you upload them to WAB I'll happily insert them back into your original post.

Uploading your images to the Gallery really is easy and doesn't take a mo. Looking forward to seeing more of your images.

I have been charged by a Pere David deer in Margam Park (a rare species that would have been even rarer if I had my 30-06 with me!). This animal, and I believe all other Per Davids on the planet, are born and bred in captivity so should be semi tame - pity he didn't know that!
I was down at Margam park this morning (not watching the Rugby!) and was seen off by a Red Stag for getting too close and I was using a 600 F4! Earlier this morning, just after dawn, a friend of mine was seen off by a pair of Fallow Bucks. These have got to be the most docile deer going, but during the Rut all deer can be unpredictable so treat them with a little caution and give them space. Everything is fine until you get within their comfort zone, normally they will just wander off but very occasionally..........
By the way - you got some nice shots there!
