| | | Nuthatch I've been home a week now and so miss Cornwall wildlife...I've got my backside into gear and managed an hour at my local birding spot.
This is my best of the day

I was watching some today at dinner time. (When all goes quiet) There was what I think one adult and two or three younger birds coming down to the same spot on the ground. I couldn't see what they were doing because of the angle but the other interesting thing was that they were leading a troop of long tailed tits (or the tits were following them) They hung around for a minute or so but never came close. The tits did though, one really close, about 1m from my face. Then they all moved on with the nuthatchs up front. |

I have yet to see this species as well as the majority of the English 'list' lol, where was this taken? It would also help if I could get out! Wheelchairs rain & mud don't mix. The kids have adopted a young cat, so bird feeders have been removed from the garden . no point giving kitty an easy lunch

| | | Re: Nuthatch Superb shot! I was out near a local lake yesterday and nuthatches regularly come to feed on seed and nuts left out on a wall. They are fascinating to watch and strike these amazing poses. I was also lucky enough to see a treecreeper and tawny owl so a good day for me! No decent photos though as I'm still practising with my new camera... | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
