| | | Long Mynd I was thinking of going to the Long Mynd to photograph the wild ponies. I was wandering if any one knew anything about them. Where try feed, drink, what time and where they like to hang around. Would a 300mm f/4 L be able to reach them? |

| | | Re: Long Mynd Try the Narnells Rock area, they're not the easiest animal to get close to. Can't answer about the lens choice. |

| | | Re: Long Mynd The best way to approach any animal is; very carefully and up wind of them, use basic hunting fieldcraft and you should be able to use a 10mm fisheye lens if you want. Do you shoot on your own or with an adult? I would suggest try checking out how hunters get close to their intended victims and follow this, obviously keep in mind that you will need to keep enough distance to not impact to greatly on your subject, and that for some animals you need special permission just to look at them from 5 Km away . Good luck hope you take the advice given to you about finding a local group who will be able to give you personal experience.
