...why am I unable to add attachments to any replies that I might make in the Forums?

When you say attachments, what exactly do you mean?
Images can be linked by copying the bbcode and pasting it into the thread, and post quotes are done by clicking on quote.
Do you mean external linkled attachments? If so, they aren't allowed. All linkages must be pre-loaded, into the forum Gallery or the unidentified Gallery.

Image attachments. I was trying to reply to a post by Chris Johnstone, in which he asked what may be done to improve his image of a Swan. You yourself, glsammy, posted an offering. When I tried to re-post the image by clicking on the 'insert image' icon, a drop-down box required a URL.
Is it just me, or am I missing something? And what is the bbcode?

Ah, right. Firstly you have to load the image you want into the Forum Gallery. This is not moderated, so you can use it straight away. When you look at the image, look beneath it, you will see a box title bbcode. Copy all this code. Go to the thread where you want to put the image and when your ready, paste the code you copied. The image will then appear.
