| | Swan Leg
Well took the plunge and posted my first shot that I am reasonably happy with. This fellow has been hanging around a weir near Meadowhall in Sheffield. Its been here for a week and I am hoping that he is looking after a nest site.
Took this using my Panasonic G2 with 45-200mm it has been cropped ever so slightly. Enough blurb from me, I'll let you tear it to shreds now!

| | | Re: Swan Leg Keep at it and you will get more and more shots you are happy with!!
Anyone know why they put their leg into such a strange position? Let it dry to remove parasites? Or to service it in some way? |

Whites are a difficult colour to expose for so you kept it all together from what I can see

| | | Re: Swan Leg Cheers for the comments Guys,
Dan praise indeed coming from yourself. I had to bin several shots because I'd managed to bleach the highlights out, so was glad to have managed this one.
I was hoping someone might be able to tell me tht to. At first I thought the poor thing had been injured. But I saw him/her standing on it. Maybe it's literally enjoying the fresh air on an over worked foot.
Am working through the rest of the shots from that session I may well end up posting some more.
All the best

| | | Re: Swan Leg Same as you, I though swans like that were injured but i've seen it a few times and like you said, they use the leg perfectly fine. I can only think it may be a way or drying out things like water fleas or other parasites and fungi/algae growth in the sun and thus killing the pests. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
