(I note their policy on image use requires you to expressly opt-out, otherwise they assume the right to use all entries: "By submitting your images, you agree that Wildlife Extra may use them in the future, free of charge unless you specifically request otherwise.") |

| | | Re: Widlife Photo Competition Hi Dave,
think I would do without the "free" advertising and get a cheque in the post instead.
If images are good enough to win serious comps they are good enough to sell.
If images are just OK for serious comps then you may be able to sell them to stock suppliers.
Thats my thoughts on the matter. |

Foz
Its standard practice for competition organisers to stipulate that winning entries
will be published. Usually in connection with the competition,if you win then your picture is published for all to see. Is that not what Photo competitions are all about? The more coverage an image gets the greater the chance of the Photographers work being noticed by the ones who write the cheques.
A useful tip; every time you save an image anywhere on the internet be sure to include as many discriptive key words in the title you can think of. Such as " Blue Bells growing in an ancient Oak wood, East Yorkshire " rather than just "Blue Bells". The reason being many publishers looking for images nowadays use search engines and type in key words to describe what they are looking for so they are likely to get images from any source, your ow blog, facebook, twitter or forums such as wab.
It pays to advertise.
