| | | Great Spotted Woodpecker & Chick Following my reecent uploads and the very kind words, I'd like to share with you all some of my Woodpecker shots from a few weeks ago.
I stumbled across the adults and watched them take food to the nesting hole, so from a good hiding point and distance I watched for a while and bagged the following shots.
Hope you like |

The first shot isn't as sharp as I'd like and after some cropping it hasn't turned out as nice as I'd want. Nice to capture all the same |

| | | Re: Great Spotted Woodpecker & Chick oh yes lol
I managed to locate 5 nests in the woodland near my home and all were very noisy throughout the feeding/fledging spell. They are one of my fav birds if not the favourite, so getting images anytime of them is brilliant for me.
I will be out looking for them towards autumn and try and get feeding them again. |

| | | Re: Great Spotted Woodpecker & Chick Super set of shots Dja,
detail is stunning , i think its great the way the young poke there head out like that i find them very comical,
and i can totally understand why they are one of your favourite birds as they are great little characters.
