I never used to shoot manual but then gave it a whirl one afternoon by looking at what the camera was doing in aperture mode for example then basically set the camera up the same in manual but then changed the shutter speeds to how I wanted the image etc, same with aperture.
then I continued to use it anytime the camera was out and now I don't use any other mode. I do shoot RAW on the D200 too so I can play around with the shots in more depth, but the S3 Pro is jpeg only but they are very good out of camera.
Anymore tips or advice just ask and I'll try and help where I can.

I shot in manual and set the aperture to 7.1 to try and give a nice sharp subject yet still keeping the bg nicely oof to help the subject stand out |

Glad you like my website | Many thanks for that. I started off learning on a "Brand New" OM10 some 20 years ago, when I traded it in so I could use auto mode for diving Photo's I promptly forgot most of what I knew. You may regret offering advice but thanks. Your site is showing me what I should be shooting but have been to lazy to try. As soon as I went digital I used RAW, I don't like the idea of losing anything. Daft I know! Lol.anyway cheers for the pointers and may well be sending a few shots for critique if I get brave enough.
Cheers
