| | | Unidentified Eggs in our Pond There are several hundred of these little eggs laying on top of the water in our pond, surrounded by a cloudy white film. Can anyone ID them for me please?
Many thanks for any help. |

| | | Re: Unidentified Eggs in our Pond Thank you GME for the suggestion.
I have a nasty suspicion that the "eggs" are in fact the dew drops left by woolly aphids as there appears to be some of the little blighters at the base of the water buttercups.
I shall, in any event, post the pics on the Water Life or Reptile and Amphibian forums.
Thanks again for the pointer. |

You've piqued my curiosity, when/if you find out can you let us know as well?
Please & thankyou.

I believe we have an infestation of woolly aphid and the "eggs" are not eggs but the dew drops they leave. The aphids are spreading all over the plants in the pond.

| | | Re: Unidentified Eggs in our Pond Oh Dear,
Well I hope you don't have to do too much to control them, I'm sure nature will take it's course! But in the meantime your left with an interesting subject to photograph.
Regards
