an article i read once said that if a species that youve been after for ages suddenly lands in front of you, to say in your head"oh no not this old bird again" it sounds daft but it is as if they can sense your adrennilin and excitment, the only trouble with this is its easier said than done,
and as for green with envy touche,as ive been after a pic of a goldfinch for some time now ive never been able to get one, i see them sitting in trees in the distance, in nieghbours gardens ive seen one land on the nyger seed in our garden once but as soon as i fall up the stairs quickly trying to grab my camera hes gone,
Thanks again Bryan very much appreciated
Regard Murray | I've been very lucky with Goldfinches Murray. Still can't believe they arrived less than a week after I put the Niger seed feeder up. I wonder if it is because the feeder is away from all the other feeders?
Some photos from yesterday, late afternoon:- Goldfinches: wallet warning!

Ive had a look at your goldfinch pics mate and they are stunning,
one day ill get a pic of one one day, he says
thats a very good point about moving the niger seed away from the other feeders as ours is with the others, thanks for that good advice, we shall find a new home for the niger feeder and see what happens even if i dont get a pick it would just be nice to see them visiting(obviously my goal is to get a pic aswell )
Thanks again Bryan much appreciated

Thats a super image of the youngster popping his head out with dad encouraging him to come out,as you said by the looks of it it wont be long before little fellow ventures out into the big wide world, and i hope you get that pic of mum or dad feeding him.
Thanks again
