| | | Re: Thousands of canadian Geese That is more likely to be Pink-footed Geese you were watching (unless you could actually ID them as Canada's). If they are Canada's I would like to know where you saw them as that is a remarkable total.
I was watching skeins of Pink feet larger than that in Norfolk a week last Saturday. It is an awesome sight and sound and one I never tire of.

They were flying over Dinnington, South Yorkshire this morning.
She said they were heading South West (ish)

| | | Re: Thousands of canadian Geese IMHO I think they are Pink Feet on their way to their feeding grounds in Lincs / Norfolk. They are moving about at the moment and quite a few that were in Norfolk a few weeks ago are now in Lancs (near Formby). How do I know that, because a Lesser Snow Goose that was associating with them in Norfolk has relocated to there with a load of Pink Feet.
I still feel that this far south of the country those skeins you have photographed are too big to be Canada's but I admit I could be wrong.
