| | | Re: Blog help Tom, I really like the idea of the reviews page, thanks Also you have some great photos too, your latest Terns are amazing. If you are ever in SW Scotland I would take you to the Sett I watch, its 100% guaranteed you will get photos.
I have messed about with things a bit since last time and added tags. Here it is now... alanswildlife

| | | Re: Blog help I installed wordpress multiuser on domain, which went pretty smoothly, and later installed drupal as a CMS. However, wordpress is quite capable and some prefer it to more complex systems.
I use flickr to host most of the images and get quite a lot of views there. The drupal site probably gets about 25% of the traffic that the flickr site does.
If you post stuff online be prepared for it to be reused and copied elsewhere. If you aren't prepared to have it stolen don't put it online. For web use a 240px image is what most commercial web pages use, and a large number of them will just take. Don't be surprised when major publication take your stuff. The Independent regularly steals content from flickr, so does the Daily Mail, and the Mirror. The print editions of newspapers are quite happy taking a 500px image and as far as they are concerned a 1200px image is huge. In fact a 1200px image is going to be good enough for a 1/4 - 1/2 page image. |

| | | Re: Blog help Yeah I agree with Walwyn not to post what you don't want stolen, when I go out shooting I always keep the BEST photos that I will use to enter competitions or sales back and post the good ones on my blog. |
