| | | Herons! At Last!
I finally got a couple of Heron shots! I have broken my photography voodoo. I know it is bizarre but I just have never been able to photograph them! Grey Heron, Alan Hewitt Photography |

Well done Alan. That first one's a great shot. I've yet to manage it myself. I had a grey heron land 12ft away from me once with great light shining on it and a perfect blue sky behind it. Unfortunately I didn't have my camera with me. I love these birds. There is one that I see fly over my head a couple of times a week when I'm at work. I always stop to watch it fly. One time it flew so low it nearly knocked me off my bicycle!
I just checked out your other photos on your website. Some lovely shots there.

Thank you for the very kind and encouraging comments. I love to see Herons. Somebody mentioned on Twitter how grumpy a heron looks. The Mrs said I must like them as we have something in common. Can't think what! |

As I told my story I did an impression of the Heron flying really slowly by waving my arms up and down with a very grumpy look on my face. Now whenever I mention birds in front of my wife she puts on this really grumpy face and slowly flaps her arms laughing to herself as she impersonates me doing my impression of a heron!
