| | | Re: Photograghing Magpies I think I'm going to try to make a dark fabric screen to put up in the conservatory so I can stay hidden behind it and poke the camera through a slit. The cats will probably give the game away, though  The alternative is to make a hide in the garden, but it's a bit chilly at this time of year. |

| | | Re: Photograghing Magpies I've found they adore those suet pellets you can buy in bags, if you scatter them on the ground with enough space around for them and put plenty down, they come back again and again until they've scoffed them all! A good chance to get one in flight as you'd pretty much know the flight path.
Also, my local magpie roosts every night in a huge fat leyland cypress tree , he/she always arrives before dusk and looks around first so if you find a place like this and got there well before dusk, you might have a good chance? |
