| | | Re: The end of digital photography as we know it That strikes me as just plain silly. Unless I am a total dunderhead, surely the the more pixels the better the image, like medium format film captures more information than 35mm. Simplistic perhaps, but you get the jist |

| | | Re: The end of digital photography as we know it Presumably the mirrors perform a similar task to pixels, in that each one is helping in the processing a tiny piece of information unique to itself, but I can't see how it would give clearer definition than pixels, if they are fluctuating. Also, in photoshop and other systems, which I have very poor understanding of, it is possible to alter colour detail and definition by doing various things that selectively affect individual pixels, whereas this way sounds less flexible. It will be very interesting to see how it develops.
I wish they'd stop inventing things for a while, to give me a chance to catch up!

Chris My Left Eye | I would suspect that the new set up would have just as many problems , just different ones
Also when the guy in the article says this
"What is so inefficient about this is that we acquire all these numbers - for example 10 megapixels - only to throw away 80-90% when we do the compression process"
he is overlooking the fact that many people use raw which is not significantly compressed
