Not photography exactly, but bumped in to an article in the Times a few week back with the idiotic argument that a decline in songbirds had been caused by 'too many birds of prey' - or something a long those lines. Apart from the fact that prey/predator ratios presumably pretty much take care of themselves (or am I missing something here?), I just put it down as a one off.
Then again, in yesterday's times - a bit more. Seems maybe a shooting lobby might be using a songbird campaign to start blasting some new targets, starting with crows and magpies, then maybe sparrowhawks (or anything that might be rumoured to eat a game bird chick I guess)
Is there a campaign against this campaign I can join?
