| | | Backpack Anyone recommend a photography backpack that can take a flask of tea? I've gone boggle eyed googling. The Lowepro Orion Trekker 2 that i use at the moment can't take my new 5 cup flask. |

| | | Re: Backpack I like your priorities Dennis Does it also need to hold a camera and lens?
I can't help you, I'm afraid. I'm also after a new one but have yet to actually try any. I suppose it depends how much kit you have (aside from your flask ) , how long your lenses are etc. A couple of possibilities are the Tamrac Expedition 4 and 5, they're rucksacks I'm planning to try out.

Matt | They seem good Matt, very very well padded, maybe a little too much for some but I think it will be that or a Kata for me. Im not keen on lowpro. For some reason they always feel wrong to me. I tink the Tamrac is one of the only ones at not too bad a price that will take my 500 prime. |

| | | Re: Backpack The Tamrac Expedition series holds lots of equipment, but it has pockets that can be opened without you knowing it, and it shouts "mug me please" too loud for my liking. I can't see where i can pop the first aid flask either. |

| | | Re: Backpack For Christmas, I had a Tamrac Expedition 7 that we snapped up at half price in one of our local shops. It was probably last year's model as it does not have the bat wings. There is quite a large pocket on the back that will allegedly take a coat. It is ideal for my flask and flat sandwich box. and I don't have to open the bag to get at the necessaries.
It might be worth seeing if you can find such a bargain. Mine was a one off.
I don't know if you are an overseas traveller, but flight bag restrictions are something to bear in mind if you are. Anyway, I am sure that you are aware of this.

| | | Re: Backpack I ended up getting the Lowepro Rover Plus AW. The photography base section is the same capacity as all the other Lowepro combi backpacks i've seen, but the hiking section is massive enough to take food, 1 litre flask, stove, kettle, plate, knife and fork, as well as wet weather stuff. Review will be posted 11 jan, after i've tested it.
One thing, the shops till has screwed up their pricing regime i think. The one on display has a price tag of £129, the till spat out a price of £99. The london based shop details can be passed on via PM only for obvious reasons. |

Take the plastic bottle out and replace it with a half liter flask, better on the outside than among your optics. All my bags are Tamrac, they are very well made,Bert | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
