photographing birds in flight - advice sheet

Apologies to those of you who are waiting for my birds in flight advice sheet - leon b, bob, jeff h, - I thought I was being dead clever in rewriting it to include demo photographs of good and bad practice

trouble is that with all the photos added it is now too big to email as an MS Word file

I have just bought a new computer and have not yet installed a pdf creator - although i will buy / download one asap , and as soon as that is up and running I will create the file as a pdf and email it out to you all (plus anyone else who wants it) - at that stage i will also send studh a copy so he can offer it for download from wab if he wants to

my apologies for the delay - I hope to have it in train by the end of next week.

Might be worth investing in a DTP package such as Adobe Pagemaker which exports to PDF, much easier than using word ... I thought that recent versions of word had a PDF creator built in.

ive got a copy of indesign - which superceded pagemaker , but while great for design work and DTPit is a lot of hassle for a simple sheet. My copy of word definitely doesnt have PDF creator built in tho - I'm going to download a copy of cute pdf which is both free and easy to use but it is just a matter of time to download it and sort it out

Re: photographing birds in flight - advice sheet

This has proved extremely popular so I figured I'd post here to save sending a shedload of PMs

The list so far is Meles meles, Laffinorse, Jeff H, Bob Hastie, LeonB, Lyn Snow, AZO, Words, Peduk, Nicola, Chris Johnstone, Phillybuck, Collin Curry, Chis Hawes, and Woolyback.

No problem and you should all get one by the end of the week or monday at the latest - Woolyback and AZO I still need your email addreses ( by PM is best)

cheers Pete (eeyore)

If you would like for me to host it on my website you can then just post a link to it for people to download?

thanks for the offer kev but stu is going to host it here once I have got the pdf sorted out - the reason I am emailing it out to those that ask for it initially is that this enables me to also give specific add on advice to each of them - such as tailoring the sheet to their camera (particularly for those with non SLR or non digital cameras), and to their experience level.

Re: photographing birds in flight - advice sheet

If I may say so, the last two posts are fine examples of what makes this such a fantastic website - here we have two very experienced wildlife photographers (and no doubt busy guys) who are prepared to put in some time and effort to help those of us (and I speak only for myself here ) still struggling near the bottom of the photographic learning curve. Thanks Kev and Pete (eeyore) for this and for all your help and advice to date.

Jeff
