| | | International Aperture Awards - OH got placed!! My OH has won a Gold award (4th place) in the 'Science and Nature' category.
Look for the Devils Coach Horse image in his own distinctive style HERE
The slide show is a bit quick but if you're interested you can look HERE
How are all you Wabbers? Well, I hope - sorry not to have visited recently but we've been very very busy.
All the best to you all

You're right, the slide-show is ridiculously fast and there's no pause button. Better to look on his own web site.
By the way, what does AU mean? It gives his location as Lancashire, AU. Surely they don't think Lancashire is in Oz?!

Well....This is the million dollar question.I have no idea and we've been puzzling our little heads over it for yonks.
It seems to denote the UK and heaven knows what it stands for - your guess is as good as mine Auxiliary to Urope? Allies of Uganda? A..es Up? heaven knows and I've looked and better looked. Anglo Union?
Cheers!

| | | Re: International Aperture Awards - OH got placed!! It's now sorted - he's a Brit again! I was getting worried in case he developed an Aussie accent.
Also - the Director who wrote back said 'Good Luck in the next round.' I didn't know there was one but we're happy with this placing anyway.

Matt | I was wondering about that! Not that there's anything wrong with using dead insects, I certainly would if I could get shots as good as these. I just can't imagine how the shots were taken.
A superb series on the web site. Spectacular images all of them. |

'My hyper macros are mostly dead insects which I collect (with respect) or source ethically. It's difficult, although not impossible, to do a higher end stack (over 30 images) of a live creature. Some are more possible than others.'
Cheers for the interest and compliment re the web site, GLS We've just had a look at yours and MrW is a tad envious of that nettle weevil and I reckon that's the best example of a whiffling Canada Goose I've seen! For those not in the know (of which I'm sure there are few) I was not swearing when I said 'Whiffling'
