| | | Camera bag suggestions? I have decided I need a new camera bag for all my gubbins. I'll give you a list if what needs to go in it and if you could suggest a brand I'd be grateful (the local Jessops selection is abysmal - nothing NEAR the size I need - so I can't go and try them out). It'll hang from the back of my wheelchair most of the time so a back-pack type thing is not suitable.
350D with sigma 70-300 lense attached
350D Body with kit lense or sigma 105 macro attached*
Canon MV630i Camcorder
Spare batteries for all of the above
charging units
Mini DV tapes (at least 2)
Flash Cards
*I'm getting myself a second 350D body and sigma 105 macro lense asap.
I really fancy something from the crumpler range so if anyone has one of these bags and can vouch for it, let me know. Thanks!

| | | Re: Camera bag suggestions? I think the Tamrac Expedition 4 would be just about the right size. These bags are fantastically made, have loads of pockets and are very functional. Through the MAS system you can add to them. I would thoroughly recommend this brand and bag

| | | Re: Camera bag suggestions? Hi Gania,
I`ve only ever used Lowepro bags, superb bags without a doubt, but they come with a price tag to match, but they offer unbeatable protection and also all weather covers.
I can`t compare them with Tarmac as I`ve never looked at one close enough to be honest, but they may well be the same standard, probaly cheaper thats for sure.
If you are ever up in Bristol, head for Whiteladies Road, and there is a big Jessops and just down the road is a big Jacobs shop, the latter has loads and loads of bags on display, every shape, size and make.
Can someone remind me when the Slimbridge meet is please.
Cheers

| | | Re: Camera bag suggestions? Its the weekend of 13th / 14th Jan Brian. I think the 14th was most peoples preference.
If you are lucky I will show you my less expensive lens cover
I too can vouch for Jacobs. They have a good display of Tamrac. I think the quality is pretty much on par with Lowepro. I looked at both but felt that Tamrac had just a few more extras which appealed to me but from what I hear you cant go wrong with Lowepro. Crumpler are fashionable and the quality is there but the functionality is not so good. I used to do design work with Crumpler. I like the bags but Tamrac and Lowepro are camera through and through.

I have a Tamrac Expedition 4 .... excellent and highly recommended.
However, I am not sure that it would take your current kit and your intended extras .... maybe the next size up would be more suitable?
