Its a Benbo trekker with a good Benbo head on it.
She's a bit battered around the edges and once you get used to the splayed legs thing its a fine tool.
Think if I was into birds and flighty insects I may invest in a mono pod at some point.

| | | Re: Do you use a tripod? I have almost given up still photography, and have reverted to video, almost exclusively. I have tried a monopod with a camcorder, but find it of little use. If I am out on a dedicated field trip. I will always take my smaller Manfrotto with me I think it is an absolutely vital tool.
Take a look at the likes of Simon King, Gordon Buchanan or even Johnny Kingdom. They all ALWAYS use a tripod, for their work.

For stills, though, there are plenty of alternatives and if you can get a good enough shutter speed hand-holding is fine.
