| | | Paint Shop Pro - Help! Before anyone says he should have gone to Photoshop, yes I know!
Anyway I purchased Paint Shop Pro X2 two ultimate a year ago and until now it has served me well. However I have a problem with producing an uncompressed jpeg that is large enough to submit to a stock library.
To Clarify:
- My raw image files sizes are 18mb
- The the stock library say "make your JPG file from an 8 bit TIFF file that is at least 24MB". I save my raw files to a tiff, the tiff files I produce are 79mb. However when I save my jpgs they are 17mb which is two small to submit.
* I make sure the compression setting for the jpg is set to 1 which is the lowest setting and the resolution of the image is set to 100dpi.
Is the problem that the raw files are to small? I cant tell if the tiff files are 8 bit could that be the problem? Would photoshop be better?
I use a Sony a700 with a 12.3mb crop senor, if that helps? |

| | | Re: Paint Shop Pro - Help! That is what I was thinking. And if you are shooting RAW why convert to an 8 bit file when 16 bit is far better.
Then if it is 100 dpi resolution, I assume the resulting file would only be usable as an internet image, or a very small print.
I would suggest that it is the resolution setting which is the problem.
ps. You don't have to use Photoshop. In my opinion, the best of the alternatives are better than the basic Photoshop. And if you can afford £500 approx for the 'full works' get a better lens instead.
However, if money is burning a hole in your pocket, the advanced Photoshop software is the industry standard; if you need that. |
