Simple answer - yes - if they fit.
However - most effects that you'll get by using filters are better applied later on the computer.
The exceptions usually being Polarisers & ND filters / ND Grads.

Yep
I agree with that. You should start with a raw file and work on it in one of the photo programs

Ditto the above - with exception of cp filters, it may be best to replicate that once in a lifetime shot in software, rather than with a filter, as you may find that the filtered version isn't the one you wanted anyway. | | |
