| | | Re: camera phone photos Post one here in this thread and ask for constructive criticism.
To be honest, I really don't think a camera 'phone will do the job. Having said that, it depends what you want to do with the photos. If you are interested in taking photo's to post on websites, I think it's a good idea to purchase that digital camera. As ever, a 10 or 12x zoom will be good for wildlife, take a look at some of the photos I've posted in the Gallery with an Olympus 750 which had a 10x zoom. Do NOT take any notice of salesmans talk of digital zoom, complete waste of time and a marketing ploy.

| | | Re: camera phone photos I agree with Helen regarding digital zoom. Almost a total waste of time with most Wildlife photos.
The type of camera would be determined by the style of photography you may want to do. Is it digiscoping or not. If it is digiscoping the type of camera's you need differ to non digiscoping.
The type of Camera Helen has, and cameras like it, are excellent at flight shots and camera work that is not at great distances.
Digiscoping cameras (using you telescope with the camera attached) gets you ranges that an ordinary DSLR hasn't a chance of reaching. Flight shots are difficult to attain but you can acheive some good ones but they are few and far between.
As a comparison have a look at my Gallery then Helen's. Some of Helen's shots are, in most cases, beyond my set up but equally some of my shots (due to the fact they are very distant birds that are zoomed up to bring them close) are beyond Helens set up.
You need to establish what you want from your camera then once that is done look for the cameras that are best suited to your needs. |
