The book arrived today and I've just started flicking through it. And what do I find on pages 24-25? Young British Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2010 is none other than our very own Squishy!! Take a bow Adam! And well done for keeping it under your hat all this time. I know you hinted that you were in the prizes but not that you scooped the title. Outstanding result for an outstanding image! We'll be there cheering and whistling when you collect your prize...
Nicola, your kite looks even more fabulous in print than it does on screen, if that's possible. Dr Nick's damsels and Toby's mating flies look superb too.
And now, having been told to keep it under my hat like Adam was, I think it's safe to reveal that I got a Highly Commended in the Wildlife in My Backyard category and had a second image make it into the book in the International Year of Biodiversity category.
I can't tell you what it's like to flick though a beautiful coffee table book full of images by the likes of Mark Hamblin, Peter Cairns, Chris Gomersall, Andy Rouse, Mike Lane, et al, and to see my pictures amongst them. Pinch me - I'm dreaming!
So that's Adam, Dr Nick, Toby, Nicola and me. Anyone else?
