| | | Re: looking for place to go tomorrow help! Somewhere in the peak district? Limestone way and all that? I once stayed near a little place called Monyash in Derbyshire, some of the walking to do round there was lovely, I should imagine that is pretty photogenic.
I used to study at Keele Uni near Newcastle under lyme, probably not that spectacular, and I'm not commending rhodedendron, but there were lakes in the former ornamental woods (The grounds of Keele Hall, former residence of the Sneyds) which were infested by them, and they look pretty amazing when they start to flower, on the banks of a series of long lakes and ponds. maybe a few months yet. There are some interesting wiers and built structures too. It was all open to the public when I was there, and I can assure you you will find some very photogenic woodland if you pop down there! I wish I'd had a digi camera when I lived there! Used to see regular buzzards down there, and Sparrowhawks, and there was always talk of regular bullfinches and goldcrests. I think I spent too much time chasing the wrong sorts of birds there.
Yeah some lovely spots in Staffordshire. |
