| | | Re: pet pictures In danger of being pilloried again here , but when all is said and done, this is Wild About Britain.
I firmly believe that discussions/photographs of pets, and for the most part farm animals, should not be allowed on the wildlife forums. After all, pets and farm animals are not "wildlife".
I do appreciate however, that there could be instances where farm animals might have some relevance to wildlife threads, so that issue isn't as clear cut.
If I recall correctly, the subject was brought up some time ago, and the forum in the Treehouse was, in part, resultant, as a means of allowing members to be able to showcase their pets without detracting from the main wildlife forums.

Mike. |

I could not agree more Mike. The odd image whereby someone may post a picture of their beagle in the treehouse relating to 'What pets do you have?' is fine but we have had periods past where folk posted dozens of images of their dogs. For me the wrong type of forum surely?

| | | Re: pet pictures i'd concur with mike too - pics of your dog, cat, tarantula, aardvark or whatever shoud only be put in the treehouse unless they are of direct relevance to another thread already running
for example i have a freind who has a great grey owl as a "pet" - it is a falconry bird that lost a wing after coliding with electricity cables , and it now lives in the house because it cant cope in an avary - pics of this might be appropriate in a thread about owls, or falconry, etc
likewise pics of pets might occasionally be appropriate in the photography forum, if they are used to exemplify a technique , but not if its just "heres my dog (cat/aardvark/yeti etc) isnt he cute"

| | | Re: pet pictures Sounds reasonable to me. I regularly take pictures of my dogs but there's other more appropriate places to post them than here. |
