| | | Re: SwallowPhotography Paul, I tried the new link but still couldn't see anything. There must be something wrong with the imps in my computer if other people's imps are getting pictures. Damn those pesky computer imps. |

| | | Re: SwallowPhotography Hello Gaza
Thankyou for looking at my photos
Im currently using a Nikon D5000 with a Sigma 70 - 300mm Manual Focus lense.
Looking into getting a 500mm auto focus sigma.
Cheers for looking bill
Tim i do recognise your avatar, i remember seeing those birds very well.
I know what you mean about taking photos in zoo's im not exactly gonna see elephants or rhinos walking down my street. |

| | | Re: SwallowPhotography I was a bit puzzled here - I thought I was going to see images of swallows....
It's difficult to form any sort of meaningful critique without resorting to a detailed list and individual comments.
If you want my honest opinion - these images are a little like the curates egg - 'Good in Parts'. Some are over exposed/under exposed and there's one of a squirrel almost hidden behind a branch.
They're pretty good as snapshots but if you want to up the ante you should start taking more care and be a little more self critical when you choose an image to publish.
Always think -
Is it in focus
Is it correctly exposed
Is the cropping or framing right
Have I made good use of depth of field
Can you see enough of the subject .... to name but a few.
Spend some time looking at professional images and try to see why they work. Read some books or look at online advice re 'wildlife' images. These are much more difficult than captive shots. With the exception of #2 (the in focus tit is behind a branch) your bird shots are very good.
The first reptile image is excellent.
It almost looks as though these images have been taken by different people with different cameras!
I'm only saying this as when people ask for an opinion I think it's wise to give one - otherwise there's no point in asking. I've had some harsh criticism in the past - and I have learnt from it.
